RAINBOW LORIKEETS

Lorikeets by nature are colourful both visually and behaviorally. There is a “get on and have fun” appearance to their perceived shenaningans as they go about feeding and causing mischief when semi-tamed. The more Northern species of the family, Red-collared Lorikeets behave in just the same manner. We have plenty of these birds in the greater Perth metropolitan area where they are found in parklands and airport trees where they screech a welcome to incoming tourists: they don’t mean a word of it really.

This is a watercolour painting on Arches 300gsm Hot Pressed Paper and is currently available unframed.
